DAY THE WORLD ENDED (1959) ROGER CORMAN PAUL BLAISDELL

After a nuclear war, an unlikely group of people, including a rancher and his daughter (Lori Nelson), a geologist (Richard Denning), a crook and his girlfriend (Adele Jergens), find themselves trapped in the middle of nowhere. A really cool mutant created by master monster maker, Paul Blaisdell appears to make their problems worse. 50's Sci-Fi at it's best. Radiation and a great monster.

  1. This is one of Roger Corman's best black-and-white efforts of the '50's and it is aided immensely by Ronald Stein's eerie, hauntingly beautiful music score. I suppose that if I were asked to nit-pick and find a flaw, it would be how on Earth people would be able to keep themselves and their clothing so pristinely clean and photogenic when they (presumably) lack plumbing and sanitation.
