Bizarre Gothic horror about a necrophiliac doctor (Robert Flemyng) who accidentally kills his wife during a "funeral game," then remarries to bring her (Barbara Steele) back from the grave with his new wife's blood.
Awesome!!! A delicious and enjoyable sight she is, with that strangely beautiful face, those doughy (unblinking Innsmouth like) eyes, and gothic presence that was just made to climb out of a coffin, again and again! Barbara Steele reigns supreme!!!
Imagine a remake, set in the same time period and locale, starring Tom Cruise and Clair Daines. It's too bad that the art of gothic horror has long since fallen by the wayside.
